Blood Brothers by Lynne © Amy Vetsch 2017 War is a long winter; a season without song Mother tried, father cried, and my brothers all moved on And wives speak their minds; I misunderstand Blood born together, blood changes hand Tongues speak to me with a rhythm in time Love works in me without permission of my mind Omit the light that you shine, your point is made Teeth to teeth, cheek to cheek, until the aching fades Now I’d speak my mind but the wrong words stand out What I meant and what I said, what are you talking about? She’s got two heads on, both backward She’s got two hearts to pump but her hands don’t work Now as the words fall from my mouth Beg to god and to the devil, beg to myself Take control or lose it, I don’t know how Get to work or just relax; make your brothers proud

Camping in Seattle / Blood Moon by Lynne © Amy Vetsch 2015 We laid out in the forest, she read while I wrote, she slept well I listened, while the rain hit the ground. Our tent made protection though plastic and thin, it kept out the weather, but it let you right in. And the mountain grew taller, my body felt deep, I wanted to call you, I wanted to scream. She said no, no. There's no signal out here, there's no single one here, who wants you to call. We were drenched around midnight from unknowns that we fear, from the Bears of our anger, from the bugs in our ears. I wanted to eat you, to swallow you whole, but out here in the forest you burn like the coal. And the fire went silent, I swear that it spoke. My heart became violent, but I kept my mouth closed. She said no, no. You must say how you feel, you must speak to be real, or you're dead to us all. I remembered the moment my grandad told me, to be thankful and patient and look mindfully. For the trees may be kind, and true love you may find, they say take what you need but leave something behind. For all loss is painful, I know your heart died, and your blood became thick and the moon sank inside. And the road may be long with eight hours to go, I just begged for forgiveness, I drove and I drove... She said no, no. Peace comes from inside, so please come back inside, there's no place to go. This blood moon is honest, is takes a long time, to get through the dark red and into the white.

Strong Bones 03:31
Strong Bones by Lynne © Amy Vetsch 2015 folding words to and from you rooted side by side you wanna skip but i'd rather scratch so hold your hand out wide its so alphabetical, so lets play a game its so hypothetical, i want your same last name mouth closed; vocalize your thoughts tongue froze; say what i cannot its so complimentary, like day and light its your personality; if done, you do it right two towns pushed together, built brick by brick an empty house just don't matter your arms; the perfect fit its just oh so practical, you keep my right side up its just so fanatical, i'll keep you dreaming of... good goals; becoming what you want safe soul; you healed a heavy heart its just so impressive, do you feel invincible its just so expressive, a love thats unconditional standing; strong bones, no matter how hard it gets standing; strong bones, i believe in this standing; strong bones, no matter how hard it gets standing; strong bones, i believe in this its so alphabetical, so lets play a game its so hypothetical, i want your same last name
